Scenic and spacious public park that is hugely popular for parties, events, or just BBQing with family and friends. There are a handful of full service picnic shelters with counters, sinks, and BBQ pits for cooking over a wood fire...these must be reserved in advance and they're very popular. There are picnic tables and cans for trash and recycling at each shelter too. The bathrooms are clean but lacking hand soap. The patches of grass are drying out due to the drought, but still usable for sports. There are hiking trails throughout the park too; along with volleyball nets and horseshoe courts. The area is still scenic despite the lack of rain, but it would look a lot nicer with greener vegetation. Lots of birds and wild turkeys were visible on our visit...probably more wildlife too. A wonderful place to spend a weekend afternoon.
Nice park for family picnic and hiking
Great views. Plenty of parking, playground areas trails volleyball courts, pleasant space for playing soccer
Big open park with several sections. There are bbq pits and playgrounds for the kids, its great for the family. We have has several get togethers here and its really nice. Good hiking trails are also availble, but be aware that there is animals around so hike responsibly. Also bees can be an issue depending on the time of year.
I have been going here for about a year working out taking trails and enjoying the outdoors. Last week I was told that active duty military would have to start paying.
The staff at the gate were friendly but not knowledgeable about the park. Parking is $8 for day use, and there are a lot of barbeque areas and restrooms near the park entrance. There is no shortage of hiking trails for all skill levels. My issue was the maintenance of the trails. Many of the paths were overgrown with brush, or had large ruts and loose sand, which felt dangerous on a 30° slope. All in all, it was a nice way to spend an afternoon. Would recommend!
Best breakfast ever ,great service. Great waitresses. Very tasty food.must go.
Best air quality, wonderful green landscapes and those trails...just felt so soft, the air so fresh. My family and I will come here and enjoy every time we're in Monterey bay, CA.
